Ty Carter

Ty Carter is a Congressional Medal Of Honor recipient who has been enlisted in both the Marine Corps and the Army. His many jobs included Combat Engineer, Primary marksmanship Instructor, Intelligence Clerk, Combat Water Safety Swimmer, and Scout.

Ty Michael Carter was born in Spokane Washington.  His adolescent years were spent in Bay Area California, then later moved back to Spokane to carryout his teenage years.  In October of 1998 Ty enlisted into the Marine Corps.  His many jobs included Combat Engineer, Primary marksmanship Instructor, Intelligence Clerk, and Combat Water Safety Swimmer. In October of 2002 he was honorably discharged.

Ty moved back to the Bay area and attended collage at Los Medonos Community Collage. For five yeas Ty experienced many different types of employment ranging from Heavy Equipment Operation to retail.  In January of 2008 Ty enlisted into the Army as Scout.

On August 26 2013, the President of the United States of America gave Ty the Medal of Honor.  Since that day he has traveled all over the U.S. as a spokesperson; Doing public appearances and Speaking about the unseen wounds of war, educating service members and civilians in order to remove the stigma associated with mental health, lectured for Grade Schools, High Schools and Collages. He has given speeches for non-profit organizations, the Boy Scouts of America and many levels of government and military.  Ty has inspired and motivated people young and old with his stories and experiences in and out of the Military.

 On October 1 2014 Ty was honorably discharged From the Army and currently lives In Antioch California.
