Most people agree Sheryl Swoopes is the Michael Jordan of women's basketball. She has been honored with nearly every award in women's basketball and her long list of records and achievements include scoring a title-game record (for men and women) at the NCAA Championship, beating the point-scoring record at Reunion Arena that was held by Larry Bird and Bernard Kind with a total of 53 points, and leading the 1996 Olympic team to a gold medal victory in Atlanta. In October of 1993 Sheryl was named "The Team Player of the Year" by the Women's Sports Foundation. In 1996 Sheryl signed as one of the first women to play for the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). While playing with the Houston Comets, she took home the first ever WNBA Championship trophy.
