Born May 16 1974, in Brooklyn New York, Adam was always interested in cuisine. He grew up in Brooklyn and attended Midwood High School. In 1996 he received his undergraduate degree in International Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He finalized his education by earning a master's degree from the Yale School of Drama in 2003.

While Adam was working his way through college, he took every restaurant job he could get. He learned the ropes of the restaurant business while being mentored in some of the East Coasts' best food joints. Adam Richman is now best known for his hosting role in the Man vs Food television show on the Travel Channel television network.

Richman reports that ever since 1995 he has kept a journal of every restaurant he has visited and noted anything he may have learned while visiting there. With extensive food expertise, Adam is quite the chef himself. However, he is perfectly happy to find, describe, and share with us, the best places to eat in America through his Man vs Food tv show.

Man v Food isn't the only television exposure Adam has had. In 2004 Richman played the role of "Butcher God" in Joan of Arcadia. He also played the part of "Andy" in All My Children. Then in 2006 he appeared as a "cafe patron" in My Ex Life. "Officer Marty Cataldo" in Law & Order: Trial by Jury, then finally in 2006 he played a "lurker" in the Guiding Light for 1 episode. Man vs Food aired its first season in 2008 and is still going strong. Richman was also invited on to the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien in 2009.

Adam Richman Bio ImageWhen asked about the dangers of eating the large portions of food he consumes in his eating challenges, Adam notes that he takes it all very seriously. He stays away from soda, coffee, tea etc., and tries to stay super-hydrated with mostly just water while in between production shoots. If time allows he exercises daily and his doctors monitor blood samples from him on a regular schedule.
